Hope everyone is gearing up for the 2012 Golden gloves events at St Bernards , Caputo Hall. We have two dates this year: February 1 and March 5. For those how have not been to our events yet, here is a piece that was posted in our news letter last year along with some pics.
The first fund raiser of the year was held on Friday, January 21st. A Golden Gloves
boxing event was held at Caputo Hall, and from all accounts, it was an extremely
enjoyable and successful event. A special thank you to brother Pietro Baio, who
coordinated the entire event. In addition, there were numerous council members who
assisted during the evening in various ways by selling tickets, providing food &
beverage, procuring sponsors, etc… In quoting Fr. Ralph, “I want to express my
admiration and thanks to the members of our Knights of Columbus, for the
professional way our Golden Gloves event was conducted...Caputo Hall looked
beautiful, everyone had a great time. It was obvious to me how many council
members selflessly worked together to accomplish a large task. Their generous giving
of their time and talent truly made the difference…It is just wonderful to see our
Brother’s working together and achieving success. This is what God’s community of
believers is about.” Proceeds from this fund raiser benefited the parishes of both St. Bernard & Mary Queen of Heaven.
