New Legend Boxing Update: William 'Shamar" Whitt

Last night, April 21, 2012, at the Cordon Bleu in Woodheaven , Queens , New Legend Boxing and and Old World boxing put on a fantastic boxing show in honor of Autism.

The night saw several local talents including "Irish" Joe Smith Jr, Frank Galarza, Rafael Vasquez, and Jarrell Miller all won with impressive knockouts. The body work was flying all night.

My good friend William "Shamar" Whitt went for his second professional bout vs. Jasey Mortavlo. Shamar methodically worked the right hook looking for a KO finish. He set everything up behind the jab while fighting in the south paw stance. Chio's game plan was excited with precision. In the final seconds of the bout Shamars body work finally paid off. Jasey fell to the ground as the bell rang, signaling the end of the round and bout. Shamar's ultimate goal may have not been met on this night. He did show his skill and speed while scoring a shutout. In the end the Ref raised Shamars hands to the tone of a 40-35 x 3 score card.

Shamar's fight as well as the rest of the card can be seen in replay on http://behindthering.com/

Expect Shamar to be back in the ring June 2, 2012 as he goes for his 3 profight on the Sadam Ali undercard at Aviator sports.
