April 5, 2013 (Los Angeles, CA) -- The US Intercollegiate Boxing Association (USIBA) will hold its first national championship tournament April 11 - 13 at the University of San Francisco.

In another first, the collegiate tournament will make history as the first tournament to crown female champions.

"I am so happy that an organization is acknowledging women boxers on the same level as men. It is long overdue," said USIBA student representative Nargis Shaghasi, of the University of San Francisco.

The tournament will also feature an appearance by professional boxer Glenn Donaire the final night of the tournament on Friday, April 13.
